This is us holding the oars in easy and another term I've forgotton..duh. 

If you are wondering why all the bow side oars are in the are, we are doing a balance exercise! (badly). 

I really enjoyed it. When we all got going, the sense of symetry was really quite a buzz.

I never thought pictures of my back could be so interesting. I think I've got a good reach though. 

Now to practice my terminology, I'm bow side and number 3 here. 

This IV that Tob coincidentally pictured, set off on the wrong side of the river and almost had a head on collison with us.... 

It doesn't look like 60 feet of boat and 8 people coming up the Cam!

Tob drove me into Cambridge this morning for my first outing in an VIII. He wondered off and took some nice pictures before returning in time to see me come back up the Cam in the VIII. He got some great shots. 

At the disolution, this was turned into a house and for centuries had two floors, you can see on one wall where a stair case was once. 

The original tiled floor. There was an ornate altar but it was nicked. 

This is a small chaple for the bishop round the back of the cathedral. We were allowed in as part of a tour of Ely we did with a guide some around new year, I forget which day. There are bits of original medieval glass and remnants of the paint on the wall that would have been.

This is odd as I'm the eldest of 4, then again maybe not. jan is 41/2 years younger then from 9 years old onwards it was just me and Dad and only as an adult - Michie wasn't born 'till I was 15, Michiepops and Nicola have only been with me short periods.
