The Bourne Identity - 4 Stars

Things I liked about this movie: It's the most 'european' american film I've ever seen. Very believable science fiction even with all the wierd shit about his brain and what they did to it. Saw Wale in it too - the guy that Bourne was supposed to assasinate was played by a bloke who I hung out with for a while my first summer in London while he was filming the Mummy 2. God knows what he's up to now. I lost contact with him when he moved back to the US to finish filming. I did speak to him once at Landmark on the phone. Anyway. I think Wale was better in this film than in the Mummy. I wouldn't mind seeing this film again. 

Team America World Police - 4 Stars

Excellent, hillarious. The best puppet movie ever made. The puppet love scene is a bit disturbing but definatley a good fun film to see. It really pushes the boundries. Lots of swearing and doesn't pull any punches at America in this world of good and evil. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As we missed the tower tour, we decided to go to the stain glass museum. Here are some of the ones we liked. 

Hero - 4 Stars

A must see bit of Asian cinema. The scenes are so perfect and so beautiful, the fighting just incredible. This film was meant to be definitive and draw a line in the sand and it has. 

On Sunday we went to the cathedral with dad to go up the lantern, we missed the last tour though. It was bitterly cold. 

We got voted most dapper party guests

All dressed up, for Leon and Louise's house warming. The dress code was victorian and art deco. Their house is really fabulous, massive double fronted detatched house in a village opposite the church yard. It's great.
We got reallly dressed up, I was well chuffed with my look. Tob looked great in a bow tie too. Dad came with us and had a good evening too. Good party.

Welcome to the conception of Fat Spiders Ltd. Toby and I are going to look into setting up a t-shirt and goth stuff stall on Ely Craft market. This would be the sort of shirts we'd sell. With this and other delights like 'I ate all the pies' and 'littleportian' and 'lekker belangrijk' and other things...

Sunday afternoon...

Well after a morning of activity - Tob sorted out the back room, emptied the boxes of books into the bookcase we've just been given by Ellen and Dan. I tidied up the garden, filled up 3 sacks of garden debris from the garden itself and the path round the back. I'm well chuffed, I'd promised the next door neighbour I'd clear out all the weeds and now I have so I feel good. We are going to look into selling him that bit of land as we dont need it/use it, in fact it's just a pain cos it's got to be maintained otherwise it turns into it's own little mini ecosystem.
After a bit of lunch, I've updated my CV to apply perminantley for the job I'm in as a contractor and do a bit of blogging. Tob is playing World of War Craft and killing lots of monsters and taking their booty. I'm contemplating a bath next as I'm all scummy from the garden (yummy).
I had a chat with Kari, she's busy qualifying as a Pilates teacher and finishing her accreditation for her therapist thing. I'm trying to get her to come up and visit but she's too busy having a full on interesting life, not working but working really hard. I'm quite gelous really, all her undertakings are so interesting, like plays, costume making, singing workshops and so on. My life seems pretty mundain in comparison. I suppose moving to the sticks to settle down and have kids does that a bit. I do have some exicting plans but not really - getting pregnant next year, starting a business somehow, becomming a parent. Luckily I like where I'm working but until that's perminent I wont know where I stand either.
Best bit's of this weekend; new boots! victoria sponge cake, made a fab homemade loaf, the french market and gardening all morning in the rain. 

I think I've got Maaike's christmas present sorted too...

The french market comes twice a year and was fab, we got some very yummy things like bread, jam, sausage, pate, french cider, calvados and of course cheese! it was packed, full of interesting smells, we ended spending over a weeks budget of food just on the market... 

Ze French Market

Having put my new boots in the back of the car, then descovered Ely Horticultural society where I found some compost activator then walked down to the market. I was expecting the farmers market but as last week was the fifth weekend and this one is the first, the farmers market is the 2nd and 4th weekend of the month. I'm going to miss next week's as I'm in London for the first workday of the team leader programme. I'm looking forward to seeing Pauline and giving her the South Africa Pictures.

Not bad for a crappy weather

On Saturday, we headed into town for the usual saturday things, go to the market for local stuff. The morning was fab weather. The highlight had to be buying my fab boots. Last week I found them in this little shoe shop in Ely, this week they'd got them in my size. This is the oldest street in Ely, I was walking down it to meet toby with my new boots and felt compelled to make a picture as it was a nice day.
