It was hard work following those flying lions though, and he dropped off. C wasn't too keen on me putting him on his tummy to sleep, but I figure there's nothing for him to choke on so it's ok - the warning is for putting them down on blankets or something that they might not be able to extract themselves from. Which reminds me - he can hold his head up for several long seconds at a time now!

Actually, the tummy thing is to do with cot death. The pros say that cot death has reduced umpteen fold since the 'back to sleep' campaign. They think that (a) they can suffocate on their fronts if they shove their face down, and (b) because they sleep deeper on their fronts they're less likely to wake up if they possit or anything else untoward happens. It's OK for them to sleep on their tums on your lap though : /
